From 1 October, Victorian electricity retailers must offer at least one plan providing three hours of electricity at 0c between 11am and 2pm. Its aim is to help reduce energy bills and ease demand on the electricity grid during peak periods.
Sounds fantastic, doesn’t it?
But whether you will actually save money depends on your household and how much electricity usage you can move into those three hours. Some plans may also have higher prices outside the free period.
