Only a few months later, Healesville Living & Learning Centre was the second group to benefit from the scheme, which was completed in May 2021.
The project involved the installation of 42 solar panels, for a total of 15.5kW of solar production. Given the estimated annual savings of around $3500, the interest free loan should be paid within 4 or 5 years. The Living and Learning Centre will then enjoy a further 20 to 25 years of free solar electricity.
This community organisation provides a space for classes and activities to help participants build skills, make friends and connect to further work, study and volunteering opportunities, so it was a pleasure to help them reduce their ongoing costs through decreased power bills.
