Healesville CoRE’s 2024 AGM

Early in November we ran our annual AGM which resulted in a few changes to our committee. We’d like to introduce you to our new Treasurer Greg, Secretary Hannah and Membership Coordinator Michelle. Greg has been a HCoRE member for many years now and says that he strongly believes in our ethos, so when the call went out a few months ago for a new Treasurer he felt it was his chance to get involved. Hannah is also a keen supporter of Healesville CoRE and became one of our Home Energy Efficiency Advisors last year, so we are delighted to welcome her to the committee. And Michelle is also a HCoRE member who is always willing to chip in when needed.

The team at Healesville CoRE sincerely thank Julian for doing a sterling job as Treasurer for the past few years, and Deb for being a very competent secretary. Both have been valuable committee members and will be missed! We also thank our outgoing Membership Coordinator Barbara for all she has done to keep this vital role ticking along.

We had a very interesting talk at the AGM from Elly Hanrahan on what COP31 may look like in 2026 if Australia is successful in our bid to host it. If this is of interest you can view it here.

We also took great pleasure in presenting two members with Life Membership. The first was for our Healesville CoRE founder and President for the first five years, Jeff Barlow. Jeff worked tirelessly during that time to establish and manage Healesville CoRE, drive the transition to renewables, and has always shown true leadership and commitment. You can view his visionary story here.

We also nominated outgoing Treasurer Julian Higgs who has always been dedicated in managing Healesville CoRE’s finances and ensuring our financial responsibilities are met.

Both Jeff and Julian were also instrumental in running Yarra Valley Community Power Hub as Executive Director and Treasurer, no easy task. We thank them for everything they have done to bring positive change to our community.
