A few years ago, Yarra Glen set up a community renewable group and gave it the very appropriate name of Yarra Glenergy. Solar panels installed on public buildings in Yarra Glen means that sporting clubs and the local kinder now enjoy dramatically reduced power bills. They also partnered with Yarra Ranges Council and the State Government to install the first public electric vehicle (EV) charger in Yarra Ranges in the main street of Yarra Glen.
Healesville CoRE are thrilled to announce that the two groups have now merged into one and have joined forces to create an even stronger community renewable energy group. We look forward to pooling our resources in the future as we continue working towards transitioning both towns to NetZero.
