Healesville CoRE was thrilled to be invited to participate in Healesville Connect’s third birthday party, which took place at Queens Park on Thursday 11 January in the form of a family picnic. We set up our stand up next to the Healesville Community Emergency Group and ran two competitions – one to see who could put a range of household appliances in order of energy usage, and an online quiz on renewable energy general knowledge. At the end of the evening the winners were announced – Helen Calvert put most of the appliances in the correct order, and Susanne Duncan won the renewable energy quiz. Both winners were very happy with their prizes of a portable solar powerbank charger. It was a great opportunity for Healesville CoRE to be part of a fun community event, and we hope to join in more of these types of events during the year.
